Finally, after sometime of thinking about what kind of HDTV I should get, I have landed to choose the Samsung 40-inches Full HD Series 6 LCD TV which is not what I have planned to buy in the first place, but nevertheless its still a happy purchase that I have done.

I was actually planning for the 40-inch LED TV Series 7 from Samsung as I was expecting it to drop its prices this November, but I was wrong though I know that it had already dropped its prices below 100k PHP, as far as my preferred HDTV Retailer is concerned. By the way, I settled for the Series 6 since it is the highest series the LCD TV from Samsung 40-inchers have. The lowest size Series 7 has is the 46 inches which is already way too big already as far as my preferences are concerned.

The total damage to my whole Samsung Home Theater Package was around 94k PHP. The HDTV itself sells around 91k on SM Malls but I got it for only 71K on Sights and Sounds Shangri-la Plaza, great bargain isn’t it. Then I added 12k for the Samsung Home Theater HT-z222 which sells around 30k on big malls already it includes an Upscaling DVD Player though and not Blu-Ray yet. Then since I dont have any walls to mount it in, I decided to buy the Sabre AV Rack that cost me  12.5k PHP which comes with its own mount that is just plain perfect.

The Samsung series comes with 120Hz Full Motion Plus which is why I really do wanted to target the higher series since they come with 240Hz Full Motion Plus. But after weighing the differences, Im just as satisfied with the 120Hz this new Samsung Series 6 has.

The only thing missing now is the Sony PS3 which is about to arrive tomorrow, and then it would be my first taste of Blu-Ray goodness.

Im also planning on eyeing for a Samsung LED TV next month maybe and Im might also be going to post some reviews for too, but as for the moment, Im just gonna tinker with my new toy and enjoy it for the moment. That’s all for now for my Samsung 40-inches Series 5 Full HD LCD TV.

Now Im ready to Watch Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Streaming on Upscaled broadcast this Sunday

    — Yup! I first got the recommendation to buy tv’s from Sights and Sounds on Pinoydvd.com since they’re giving you the bang for your buck, and regarding your advice on Blu-ray, Pinoydvd is also where I scout for cheaper but yet sealed copies of BD Titles….

The problem is just that, buyers often visit PinoyDVD that by the time I could see the list of Titles being sold, most of the Good Titles has already been taken and sometimes reserved.

Im also considering the deal with one PinoyDVD Forumer who deals with other users to ship DVD in bulks and everyone would just share the Shipment expenses.. I think that user is OreoShake… Or I can buy directly from one of the independent Merchants there.

And I agree that Mall BD Prices are way too high that even some of those are double the price.

Are you a PinoyDVD Forumer too??

@mao — Yeah, now you know what Im being busy with these days lol, I would need to stress test (burn-in Phase) the TV so that I would be able to see if there are any factory defects as early as now…

    nice new toy :)

You will definitely love blurays :) I guarantee you that. But one tip. Do not buy bluray disc in the mall. either buy from the US (at Amazon.com) or thru sellers at http://www.pinoydvd.com :)

But I prefer amazon since I normally target quality movies for $10 and below :) and the items piggyback with my friend’s own regular shipments to Manila
