Synopsis
A hopeless guy who was adept at declining everything was challenged by his old pal to change his boring and routine life and was promised a good fortune just by joining his pal and attending a convention.
Review
The movie was focused on a guy who was satisfied with what he usually does best, hide, deny, and live life as it is. Even though he does deny most of the things around him, his friends never gave up on him.
He was working in a bank, and he mostly denies loan requests
He lost his girlfriend and whenever he sees her, he denies talking or even meeting her again.
He simply took everything around him for granted. He followed on, continued with his boring life, until one day he met his old pal and was surprised to see him happy and was very satisfied with his life. Of course at that point he still declined the invitation, but was given a brochure just in case he changes his mind.
His life continued on until he was driven by his conscience to think about the things that come knocking on his door that have already left him. He then remembered the opportunity that was given to him and was just waiting for him. The “Yes is the new No” self-help program.
After that self-help program, he had gone with the flow as his life unravels in front of him while showing him the opportunities that should have been his in the first place and of course without breaking the covenant that was sealed in him in the self-help program that he had been into… To always say YES to everything. Yes to all the things even if it will make him much more miserable.
The movie Yes Man depicts a part of every one of us, showing us the things that could make us think of things “that-could-have-been”. Things that we had disregarded that could have made us grow a little bit more than what we are.
The Yes Man will not just teach you how to say Yes to everything, since everything that is too much is also bad for you, but also to teach you to think about your decisions in life, may it be a teeny bit or an impacting decision that can literally make a difference in your life.
All in all The Yes Man is much like an eye opener for each every one of us. Sometimes taking risks can add up spice and thrill to an ordinary person’s routine lifestyle and even give big benefits in the long run.
So don’t be a “No Man”, You would not want to miss this film… right?
A must watch flick this 1st quarter of 2009 in the Philippines
