Why I Ditched The Topblogs.Com.Ph Ranking System

Before then, I do have that little blue button something from topblogs.com.ph, but that was waaaaaaaayy back before I knew a thing in the blogosphere other than posting and posting and posting…
But much to my surprise though, I have proved at some point that topblogs.com.ph has “few” controversies at hand to prove that they are less-glitch free with their system (was that even a crrect term?).
But one of my main reasons was because of the “nofollow” case, plus many other cases of glitch in their system like the “cheater” in this topblogs.com.ph ranking system. Some new bloggers may not know him and some few long time bloggers may also not know him, but for my point of view, I am down with that cheater, that just means na nagiisip talaga siya, and magaling siya because he tried it, and it worked. Its not really his fault, its the topblog.com.ph’s “advanced system” LOL that was to blame…. and yeah kilala siya hehehe. Is he a Blackhat? uhmmm ndi ko alam? hahaha…enough of the blind item, kayo na bahala magresearch haha. oh last clue minsan pa lang siya nagcomment dito sa blog ko…hahaha.
But seriously he is a good friend, and you can always ask him if you need help with your blogging needs.
3 months from now, 1 year na ang case na ito, but from what I have observed, I think they have only cared less. I was trying for almost 3 days to visit their site but they are down. I don’t have any idea what is happening at their site right now but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.
If this ranking system is just an ego booster, then I would really like to get Ratified…
I wonder though when i would get ratified… I hope I would, soon.

There is a bit of misinformation here.
1. That ‘cheating’ incident was fixed a long long long time ago. In fact, within the month of when it first surfaced. http://www.topblogs.com.ph/details/3476.html – click on ‘All Time’ and see the massive drop in traffic. That was when we pretty successfully stopped the cheating.
2. Nofollow vs dofollow. The point of the topsite is to send traffic. – we have sent out over 550,000 clicks to member sites. Abe’s (who founded the site) YugaTech.com site has gotten 4200 visitors from our site. You are free to look at your referrer logs and find any non-search engine site that has sent you 4200 visitors. Unless you were on the frontpage of Digg or Delicious, I doubt you will find a single site that will send you so many visitors.
We focus on what we do – ranking Pinoy blogs by traffic, and then sending them even more traffic.

when these ranking blogs started to sprout several years ago, matino pa sila. then who knows, maybe they’ve learned how to manipulate things. none of the rankings out there could be trusted. i used blog juice, but it was weird, have so many bloglines subscribers but it shows up as zero on the calculation table. next, technorati went awry, not sure if they have ever fixed that. then stupid alexa went ballistic. the only thing i rely now are just my readership and views using 2 different softwares. why 2? because i double check what the other is reporting. so, now, i dumped them all except my reliable (so far) sitemeter and stat counter. pag nagwala pa ang dalawang to, i have no clue kung ima-mano-mano ko. can you imagine??? hahaha

Yup Emz! kaya mahirap din makakuha ng mataas na rankings since yung isang button ng topblogs, pangmaramihang blogs na ang pinaglalagyan eh. So in turn mas mabilis ang pagtaas ng rankings nila kesa sa mga hindi dinadaya yung codes…
I dont know though if this still exists…

this makes a lot of sense! maybe it’s the reason why my ranking fluctuates inexplicably! hahahaha (feeling ako eh)
