When Can A Blogger Be Called A Pro?

I was wondering, when can a blogger be called a pro? Bloggers who are just starting out call themselves newbies, what about the non-newbies?

Is there a line to cross in order to call yourself a pro blogger? Is there an exam to call yourself a pro blogger?

Nurses call themselves pro when they pass the Nursing licensure exam, lawyers call themselves attorney when they pass the bar exam, plus others who call themselves pro when they pass a certain degree and a certain exam, but what about freelance web publishers like us?

There aren’t any identification cards to call yourself a pro, there aren’t any exams to pass to consider yourself a pro. So what are the boundaries or goals to be reached before you can call yourself a pro?

Do you need to be famous?

Do you need to have many blogs?

Do you need to earn from blogging?

Do you need to earn A LOT from blogging?

Do you need to have a professional looking blog?

Do you need to be taught by a pro?

Are you sure that the one who taught you was a pro?

How can you tell that your mentor was a pro?

Do you need to have lot of connections?

Do you even need to know everything?

Same as degree holders, they can’t be called a real pro just because they have passed a certain exam. Some have earned their degree but aren’t practicing what they have learned. So do you still consider them pros?

Some have BARELY failed a certain exam (barely lang, so pasado padin : just barely so they are still considered passers), can you consider them pros?

Some haven’t even took an exam, but because of experience they are more better than the ones in the field.

Same in the blogging world, you do not need to learn in-depth knowledge to be a pro. As long as you are successful, you can consider yourself pro, as long as you are satisfied and happy what you are doing, you can consider yourself a pro.

All you need is to know the basics, and from there you can start to build your own way to be a successful blogger.

What matters is the experience you get. Not just great experiences but more importantly the dismaying ones too, because it’s the things that put you down that make you grow. It’s where you can learn things, it’s where you can gain experience.

It’s ok to copy the style of your favorite blogger (when I say style, it’s not the post that you would copy, but the techniques that your favorite blogger does) when you are just starting to blog, because it is what molds you to become a better blogger. You may learn some new things that your favorite blogger does not, from there you can improve. Think as if how a child thinks, imitate and then improve.

Don’t forget to read, read, read. I read more than I blog, and I apply what I read when I blog. Use your judgment on which to follow or to apply about what you have read. You don’t have to follow everything that you have read, you just need to choose which are effective. In order to be effective, you need to experiment, not every technique applies to every blogger.

After all that, ask yourself, am I a pro blogger? Am I a pro in blogging? If you can answer a straight YES to that question, then you are.

If someone says that you are a great blogger, then you are for them.

Always be humble, a real pro doesnt brag that they are pro, instead they just do what they do, Pros never need to impress anyone, pros never need to prove anything.

What about you? Do you consider yourself a pro?? And when can you consider someone a pro?

Yup. You are correct. You will not see my mail in your inbox anymore. But those things that you’ve emailed could go a long long way in the blogsphere to unmask you and your sleazy blog.

I’ve to reformat my PC tonight since you have contaminated it and I have to ask our parish to exorcise it tomorrow.

I have the same question as you, who makes them a pro was there an exam that they took to be said a pro? Probably those who are called a pro blogger are those who make a living out of their blogs, its their main source of income and earn decently and regularly with their blogging (by regularly I mean there is no long break without income coming to them through their blogs).

I think I would qualify myself as a hobbyist blogger. If I earn extra with it that is great if not I am not bothered as it’s not my main source of income. I just like the perks that comes along with blogging.
