A friend of mine asked what an RSS is, well as ignorant he is *lol*, I told him to visit my site because I will be posting about what an RSS is, better yet I told him to subscribe to my RSS so that he would actually know how RSS works. He googled about what an RSS and still does not get it. Well it really do seem a bit confusing for persons like him that only surfs the internet to check emails, watch videos and chat and never bothers to delve in into these rather kind of technical terms that is obviously has been around for quite some time now on the world wide web.
For this article, I’m going to explain what an RSS means and how it works in layman’s term, so that other individuals like him would easily understand and appreciate the use of RSS feeds.
RSS is Really Simple Syndication, what it mainly does is it allows Internet users to subscribe to the information that appeals to them online, such as updates to a blog or newspaper Web site. Once they subscribe to a site’s RSS “feed,” they can receive real-time updates to their e-mail inbox or to a special Web page, even browsers now has integrated RSS feed readers. It is like having a personalized newspaper that updates in real time.
That is mainly it. Simplified. Dumbed down.
I hope this helps clarify what RSS is and what it is mainly used for. Don’t forget to subscribe to my RSS Feed thru your favorite browser or thru your Email.
