You have upgraded your PS3 Firmware and then suddenly the controller cannot get in sync with your PS3, what to do? That is fairly easy. All you have got to do is to upgrade your PS3 to the optional PS3 Firmware Update 3.15 which is available on both US and Asian versions of the Playstation 3 site.

By the way, this issue is mostly seen in the PS3 Slim Versions, so if ever you have got the same problem on the Phat PS3 then I don’t know what it is. It might be that the controller is already having its own problems or whatnot.

But if you chose not to update on the Optional, I repeat, Optional PS3 Firmware 3.15, then a good solution that I have always done on my PS3 Slim is through the following steps.

Turn On your PS3 Slim using the controller

Now, if you got the problem then you probably should be at the XMB menu already but the controller is still blinking its Light indicator.

Hold the PS button for more than 10 seconds or until the light indicator on your PS3 stops blinking.

Turn Off Your PS3 Slim again through the console.

Then turn it on again using the PS3 Controller.

There you go, the PS3 Controller issue should now be solved. No cables needed, no pairings needed, just a simple reset. It maybe annoying at times but its the best solution of you dont want to upgrade to the optional PS3 Firmware 3.15 just to be able to solve the PS3 Controller Sync Issue.
