Im now a proud owner of Nokia’s N900, its current phone that runs on Maemo OS! Im still having some Ooh and Ahh moments as I discover new things with my new Gadget.
First of all, why did I have my eyes set on the Nokia N900? Its because I know what kind of powers it can really harness when discovered, knowing that it runs on Maemo OS, and not just your average Symbian OS that you can find on most Nokia Smartphones…
.
.
The Nokia N900 is dubbed to be a Tablet or Laptop with the capabilities of a Smart Phone, and it really is… One of the things that I liked about my new Nokia N900 is its web browser, which is unlike any other mobile browsers I have encountered. Why? because it displays websites in their native format. Meaning no more messing up with the Mobile versions of webpages wherein stuff are all limited.

You see, when I try to visit my blog on a Smartphone with browser that does not support the native computer format, its all messed up, cluttered up in a bunch unless if I have a Mobile WordPress Plugin or any other plugin that can help me serve my website to be viewable on mobile phones then it would all be just a webpage which is a pain to navigate through.
But with Nokia N900, its a different story, I can just visit my site, or any other websites for that matter without even having to worry if it would show up just fine on the screen, because Nokia N900‘s uber Browser is just pure awesomeness as it would display webpages exactly as it is as if you are visiting it using a laptop or a desktop…
Another thing I liked about my Nokia N900 is its ability to multi-task. With Maemo OS (which is FYI based on Debian Linux which is by the way the same server that runs the host of this site, Dreamhost, which is Debian Linux) I do not have to worry about doing tasks all at the same time at the expense of my Uber Nokia N900′s speed and performance, because it can handle multi tasking just like a juggler juggling taks with no sweat at all..
Remember, I said its a Computer with Phone Capabilities, which is why you can surf the web, while you do an email, while you make a text message, while you are playing a game, while you are refreshing Barriosquare App, while you are typing some blogpost on MaStory App, while you are in the middle of a phone call, while you are running some GPS App, while you think about other tasks that you want to throw the Nokia N900, as it screams for more. That is how powerful the Nokia N900 is…

I also liked the threaded messaging, its not the conventional messaging that you can find on virtually every phone available right now, because this time its threaded, so its not hard to get lost in the conversation anymore. Unlike before wherein you would still have to review where the conversation left off so that you’d have an idea what you were talking about moments ago or a few hours ago or even a day ago.
And I think I have made the right decision on choosing Nokia N900 though there is a negative for everything of course… And one of the concerns that I currently have is the Battery Power which is kind of a little bit on a thread….
I mean, the battery power does not last that long. It runs on Nokia BL5J and its power capacity is not suffice enough to last you for a day if you are really multi tasking things a lot. Well I cant blame Nokia N900 for that, because a Powerful gadget such as the Nokia N900 is really something that needs a decent battery support. Which is one of the reasons why I charge the Phone whenever I have the chance… Good thing is that it can charge while plugged into usb, which makes it chargeable wherever there is a usb port running, and lucky me, I always have my laptop with me where I can charge my phone when off the road, or I can charge it through my car stereo’s USB Port while driving on the road.
So I think thats gonna be a long intro, this wont be the last of my blogposts regarding my Nokia N900 as I still have many things to say that I havent said here. So many things to exploit, so little time. So long for the next updates that I have regarding my new gadget, the Nokia N900.
