Official PS3 Launch In The Philippines!

I sure am excited as the Sony Playstation gets official here in the Philippines! Finally the wishes of numerous Playstation Fans and Loyalists have been heard, and oh yeah, Im one of them…
With this, there are many things running into my mind right now like, Sony Philippines would soon render their service for those PS3 Units that got BDL’d, another thing is that local currency for the Sony Products would now be supported for the Playstation Network Community such as Local Credit Cards being used as a payment system for buying Downloadable Content on Playstation Store and other sorts of stuffs that local gamers have been having a hard time dealing with.

Still, I can foresee that 3rd party merchants such as Datablitz and I-tech and other stores would still thrive, specially when it comes to game titles and such since I have a hunch that Sony Philippines prices would have their merchandise priced a notch higher than the mentioned 3rd party ones. Though the competition for the Playstation Units would now be stiff because the official Sony Playstation Philippines are here now.
There were other hilarious but somehow good ideas which where thought to change the local gaming industry such as seeing the SCEP as contrasted to the SCEJ or SCEA which means Sony Computer Entertainment Philippines for SCEP, or even PSN Network cards being localized and even being brought down to consumer levels such as Sari sari store wherein PSN Credits would now be available at your “suking tindahan”
Good ideas that somehow makes gamers smile, but I think its all because of the hype, soon there would be a rise of PS3 gamers here in the country, more competition, but that also means more interaction and everything just beyond that.
So would you go?

I can’t believe it is 15 years since the first playstation was launched?
I remember when I first layed eyes on one in a store called toys r us. It left me speechless compared to the megadrive and amiga I had sitting at home. Every teenager had to have one.
Look at where we are now with the ps3 console and all the great ps3 games and the playstation move and look back at the ps1. Just makes you imagine where we will be in another 15 years. . .
Scary but amazing!
