Never Underestimate Us Bloggers

As of the present time, blogs and bloggers aren’t recognized as something or not even someone, as far as Pinoy Bloggers are concerned. Well people who don’t diverge and never believes on the power of the online world media never truly knows the real power a blog can harness.

BLOGGER!? DUH!?
As of the moment, bloggers are being stereotyped here in our country. A fellow Pinoy who is a tech blogger recently experienced the wrath of an ignorant stereotypical maniac who never knew what a blog or what a blogger is. I am totally disgusted by how “they” treated this fellow blogger, and I feel for him. Read the story here.
Sometimes I am also greeted by questioned reactions when I say that I am a blogger. Everytime someone asks me what I do as of the moment as I answer them straight that I am blogging, that I am a web publisher of some sorts, I get those irked no-name faced looks saying “Huh!?” without even uttering a word, and I often feel insulted when I get those reactions so what I do was just to smile back and keep telling to myself that I do know something that they don’t, and I do see something that they can’t.
TO THE RIGHT, TO THE RIGHT
Every blogger have their own rights. Recently, a fellow pinay blogger was once denied of her rights when her owned pictures were used for a news segment without her permission. This has been abuzz for a while now in the pinoy blogosphere and was kept updated. Read the story here
Some people just cant fight the temptation to violate the intellectual property rights in the e-media world. Yet this violator just cant seem to walk the walk since they themselves belongs to the world where intellectual property rights are being enforced.
Maybe they thought the owner of those pictures they flashed on national television wouldn’t care less, that they thought everyone has this hunger for media exposure, but they were dead wrong.
My verdict in the story was that I do not believe in their alibi that they were in a rush, uh-uh, its not an excuse. It doesn’t take longer than 5 seconds to know and credit the things were credit is due.
I hope they all learned their lesson.
Never underestimate bloggers, because as of now I consider bloggers as unsung heroes waiting to be heard, recognized and respected, since its only a matter of time when everyone would just follow suit on what bloggers are doing right now, getting their messages across on their own point of views.
As a proof, look at what CNN has to say about the power of blogs and bloggers around the world on the recent Mumbai terrorism attacks titled as “Blogging in the wake of terror” where bloggers expressed their raged reactions and other bloggers offered their help on finding missing relatives and friends.

Yep, I agree. Never underestimate the power of blogs. It is one of the most influential source of information. In advertising, it can make or break a restaurant, hotel, event, etc… Di ba nga some advertisers resort to the help of bloggers for promotion, mas tipid pa and just as powerful as TV and radio ads. News can spread like wildfire among bloggers.
