Im gonna be availing of Johnny Air Cargo services myself for the first time. Finally after more than a year of lurking around forums, I have finally found a reason to buy something on Amazon and I would not be using the “Hating Kapatid Shipping Scheme” on Pinoydvd.com this time around so that I can experience for myself how this Johnny Air Cargo Shipment works. Hopefully this would also help others out there who have plans on buying something online somewhere from the other side of the world and have it shipped right to your doorstep or have it picked up at the nearest branch of Johnny Air Cargo Near You.

So, here it goes. I just bought a gift, for my girlfriend, a DSLR. Particularly a Canon Rebel T3 (US) aka Canon 1100D (Europe) / Canon Kiss X50 (Japan) and a Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC card straight from Amazon. I had it shipped to Johnny Air Cargo New Jersey Branch. I availed of Amazon’s Local Express Delivery so that the items can be delivered the same day it was ordered.

TIP
JAC-NJ does not have any taxes while JAC-NY does have taxes (based upon my purchase). That is why I have it sent to JAC-NJ instead of JAC NY at the expense of 2-3 days longer travel times since items sent from JAC NJ would still be delivered to JAC NY before sending it here in the Philippines.

So here was the time frame for the first day of ordering dated October 10, 2011

October 10, 2011 Ordered the Canon Rebel T3 and Transcend SHC 16GB Class 10
October 10, 2011 10:20 AM – Items left the Amazon Warehouse in Pennsylvania going to A-1 Courier Service in Edison N.J.
October 10, 2011 2:10 PM – A-1 Courier Services received my 2 Items
October 10, 2011 2:52 PM – My items are now in transit going to Newark New Jersey Johnny Air Cargo NJ Branch
October 10, 2011 7:05 PM – Delivery Attempted (No One Available To Sign)

So my package was resent the next day since no one received it on October 10, 2011

October 11, 2011 3:13 PM – Received by R. Lai (Ray Lai)

Now that it was received by JAC NJ its time to count 2-3 days until it arrives at JAC NY wherein it would be sent along with other items from other people who ordered from online shops like Amazon, Ebay, Best Buy among others.

Estimated time of arrival to JAC NY is on October 13-14, 2011

From there it would be sent here in JAC Makati-Aguirre where it would be available to be picked up at the preferred JAC Branch which you indicated in the JAC Profile Form (Available above when registering for a Johnny Air Cargo Corporate Account) when signing up.

October 17, 2011 – I updated JAC regarding my package and I was told that my package was already on its way to Philippines. It left JAC NY last October 13, 2011, just two days after it arrived from JAC NJ. It was currently offloaded in China that time and was told to update my package a few days later.

October 20, 2011 – I updated Johnny Air Cargo again early in the morning and was already kind of crossing my fingers that hopefully my package has already arrived. Around 11am I received an SMS from JAC that my package is already waiting for me on their SM MegaMall Branch and right then and there I readied myself and zoomed off to SM Megamall to get my ordered items from Amazon.

all in all it took 10 days for my package to arrive from JAC-NJ to JAC-NY to SM Megamall

The shipping cost of my items ordered from Amazon (Canon Rebel T3 and Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC Card) amounts to a total of 2,603 PHP. It includes everything from handling fees, taxes, shipping rate everything! I was kind of surprised, I was expecting the total amount of shipping for my package would hover around somewhere in the 4K to 5K mark. Obviously I am impressed.

I received my package in a big box big enough to fit 2 Canon Rebel T3 items. No biggie for me as the box was the original box that Amazon used to pack my items. My package was in its best condition and everything arrived like how it was delivered by Amazon.

So would I use Johnny Air Cargo Services in the near future? DEFINITELY!
