Okay since some readers and visitors in my blog are getting confused on how to apply for a Paypal account here in the Philippines since there are already a lot of sources out there which have different styles and techniques and some are updated and some are not… so here is my straight up step by step method on how you can apply for Paypal using your all new Unionbank EON Card.
Step 1 – Enrolling Your EON Card
Once you get your Eon Card go to Unionbank EON Cyberaccount Login and Enroll your Union Bank Eon Card. Of course since your card is new you still need to enroll it. You cannot be able to log in even if the blank fields state that you enter your card number/user id and Pin.

Step 2 – Enrolling Your Eon Card Continuation
Follow the next steps in enrolling your Unionbank EON Card.
Step 3 – Three Day Wait
Wait for approximately 3 Business Days (which is why its a good way to enroll is on a Monday), as this is the time that your Unionbank EON Card enrollment has succeeded. You would know that your card has already been enrolled if you can be able to log-in using your chosen User ID and your 4 digit PIN Code.
I dont know why but even if you are already enrolled, using your Card No. as your login would give you access to your account which is why you should always take not of the user ID that you used to Enroll your EON Card.
Step 4 – Making a transaction Record on EON Account
Once you are enrolled, deposit an amount on your account around at least a minimum of 300 PHP, and also use the card at least once so that you’d have a transaction record with you EON Account. The reason for this is that EON Accounts that does not have at least one transaction in their record won’t be recognized by Paypal as an active account.
It wont matter how you use your card (e.g. use it to pay for something through swipe, use it to withdraw to any Megalink enabled atm machine, or transfer an amount to another EON Account or UnionBank Account or any other bank account through the ATM or Online, or even Pay your bills, that is if your bills would not exceed the 300 PHP that you just deposited.) so long as you can be able to record a single transaction would be good enough… thats right! you can withdraw even if the atm machine is not UnionBank so long as the machine supports Megalink then you’d have no problems withdrawing any amount at all, well you’d be deducted 12 Pesos on your account though if the ATM Machine is not UnionBank, and that includes checking your balance!
Step 5 – Registering On Paypal – Personal Account
Once you have recorded a transaction then that would be reflected on your account immediately. Now you are ready to enroll for your Paypal Account. Remember the 300PHP minimum, it would serve its purpose here. Register an Account on Paypal and then follow the instructions on registering your account…
Once you have initiated the Link my card to my Paypal Account, Paypal would deduct a certain amount on your account, and that is where the 300 PHP comes into play.. Hopefully you just used a small amount on making a transaction record on your EON Account and you still have an amount left on your account… preferably around 150 PHP.
Dont worry about the amount that would be deducted to your account as it would be given back to you. Paypal would just use it to verify if your account is really active which is why you should also need to have atleast a single transaction on your account to make the verification work.
NOTE: If ever you see a “Link my credit card so I can start shopping right away” then just go and enter your EON Card Number… Its the 16 Digit number on your card..Count them, because you might have entered the Account number on your card since the EON Card has two sets of numbers printed on the front of the card… Dont worry, your EON Account is still a Debit Card, Paypal would automatically detect the numbers being typed and would recognize your card, you’d even see the VISA Logo standout.
Bigger Numbers – Card Number – 16 Digits
Smaller Numbers – Account Number – 12 Digits
Step 6 – Verification | EON Paypal EXPUSE Code
Now that you have registered your Paypal it would automatically enroll your EON Card, now you need to confirm it by putting the 4 Digit Expuse Code which would be reflected on your EON Online Transaction Record. So go login to your EON Online Account and check the transactions… The 4 Digit Expuse Code would look like this:

Now enter the 4 digit Expuse Code on the Paypal Verification page where you are supposed to enter the 4 Digit Expuse Code… Dont mind the numbers in the Parenthesis as its the transaction number.
Expuse Code – 4 Digits
Step 7 – Success!
Once you have successfully entered your expuse code correctly then your now ready to shop online! That is if you have some money on your EON Account. If not then just go to your nearest UnionBank Branch and deposit some Money on your EON Card and then have a merry online shopping spree!! May the online shopping be in dollars, pounds, yen, won, etc so long as you have some money on your EON Account, everything would be deducted straight from your account. No need to transfer some funds from EON to Paypal.

Hello everyone. I have a problem regarding on how to confirm my EON card, After i successfully linked or add the card on my paypal, then it will go to the next page on which you have to confirm the card. But when i clicked the submit button, it will say, “We were unable to verify this credit card. Please check if the information you entered is correct. If the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card.”
What could be the reason behind this? i have successfully enrolled my card on the EON cyber account and it was already activated. How could this happening to my card?
Please help me. Thank you so much!
Your reply will be a big help to me.
Salamat po!
