Its been 2 months since I have purchased and used the Encore Wireless Router G (ENHWI-G2) from CDR – King. So far so good, no hints of impending problem at all. Sometimes the router is on round the clock, and it still works at its peak, no drop connections and whatnot.

In my opinion the range of the Encore Wireless Router G‘s signal is around 30 meters here at my place using its bundled 2dBi dipole antenna along with wall and room interferences.

I personally think that this router can still increase its capabilities if I would opt to replace its antenna with a longer one, also available on cdr – king or by using the Windsurfer Wifi – Booster.

As for me, I really got a bang for the buck by getting this wireless router from cdr – king. I got this Wireless G router for a whopping 1,380.00 PHP. Cheapest so far compared to other branded wireless routers such as D-Link and Linksys to name a few.

The only thing that can differentiate this router against the top brands is when it comes to quality. I am yet to find out if the quality of this router can be at par with the top networking hardware brands out there.

But for my opinion, I think this Encore Wireless Router G (ENHWI-G2) could go against the top brands since Encore itself is focused on networking products.

Please bear in mind that Encore is just being resold by CDR – King and is not manufactured by CDR – King itself. Matter of fact, CDR – King has its own version of Wireless Routers at a much cheaper prices ranging from 600.00 – 800.00 PHP

My verdict for this product – Bang for the Buck

    So natry nyo na po pala with other laptops, hmm, what do you mean, wirelessly or thru the lan port?…. But from what you said, I can tell na pwedeng its not on the router but on your Acer Laptop… since sabi nyo po na nakakaconnect naman po yung ibang laptop without any problems…

    Best if you can post here what you have already done to your Acer Laptop like if you already have tweaked its Wireless Connection Settings… If not then you can try this one…

    try to tweak and fix the settings of your network connections… depending your OS, you can try to tweak it by right clicking the wireless connection of your Acer laptop and then going into properties… Then try double clicking the TCP/IPV 4 and make sure na yung mag pop out na window says na automatic yung IP Address and DNS Address na makukuha nyo po….

    @Vhindoy,

    Good that you have found out about that problem, most often than not, yung drivers po nyan eh kasama na sa desktop nung binili nyo po… for sure may mga drivers na pinatago po sa inyo nung binili po desktop nyo, and most often than not andun na po yung drivers na kelangan nyo, hindi lang siguro na install ng maayos (either because of a reformat or something else) just look for it and try to reinstall the drivers from cd para di na kayo mahirapan maghanap, if di nyo na po maalala kung san po ninyo nailagay then the best thing is to search for it in the internet.

    Hope that you can fix the problem already have a nice day!

    @john,

    nung kinonfigure nyo yung router nyo, naaalala nyo pa po ba yung address na nilagay nyo? (e.g. 192.168.x.x)? and when accessing your router, may nakakabit po ba na modem? and if meron po, there are chances na pareho ang address ng router and modem nyo which is why hindi nyo maaccess yung address na 192, 168.1.1…

    what to do is to remove the modem from the router (if there are any) and then try to re access the 192.168.1.1 sa browser…

    if wala naman nakakabit and you still cannot access the 192.168.1.1 then you’d need to do some hard reset on your router… Get a Pin (a literal pin) or a toothpick, and then poke through the reset button on the back of your router for around 10 seconds or until the router restarts itself… ( do this while the router is on ), and then try reaccessing the router again from its default 192.168.1.1

    then if successful, try running the wizard config, and make sure that you take note of the 192.168.1.1 sa router po.. if possible change it to something more memorable, all you need to change is the second to the last value.. (192.168.x.1) to anything from 2 to 255, so it would look something like 192.168.79.1 or 192.168.109.1 or something like that… then whatever router ip address you put in the wizard config would be the configuration that you would need to type in para makapasok sa console ng router mo po….

    and then that would be the time na ikokonect nyo na po yung modem nyo….

    May I know kung anong ISP na gamit nyo po?? if its a globe wireless router, like the one Im using, kelangan pa po iconfigure yun to work properly, if its the globe wireless that uses the ZTE MF600 modem, no need for configuration, kung PLDT MYDSL naman po, no need for modem configuration din po, plug in na lang sa wan port ng router from modem and you’re good to go… Yun lang po ang alam ko na configuration since those were the ISP’s that I have personally fixed already.

    Hope that helps

    Thank so much James, you’re really of great help, because of your suggestion below, I found something;

    ______________________________________________________________
    if after restarting you still experience the problem of limited connectivity, open your network properties (go to Network Connections>Right click Local Area Connection>click Properties>then choos Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) then double click it) something would pop out and check to make sure that the “Obtain IP Address Automatically” and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically is selected, if not then select it and then click apply…
    ______________________________________________________________

    The IP and DNS, are already ok, but I found this, my internet protocol is Ver 6, and it says I have no driver of it, so I guess that’s the problem, just going to search the web for it. Thanks so much again and God bless…………………

    Louis James Diaz Says:

    nope no need to configure on your router… I have a hunch that the problem lies on the desktop, I have a similar problem to what you have, but sadly it was my ethernet port connection that did have a problem, so what I did was to buy a wireless USB from cdrking so that I could ditch in the LAN Cable since its already giving me some problems on the desktop that I have…

    But Im not suggesting that you also do the same, but try these if it would work out.. and I hope it does.

    Go to Start>Run> and then type CMD and then from the command prompt type in IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS then press enter and then type in NETSH INT IP RESET C:\RESETLOG.TXT then press enter again and then NETSH WINSOCK RESET then press enter, and then try restarting your desktop. then tell me the results… by the way, just keep the lan cable plugged to your desktop and is connected to your router….

    if after restarting you still experience the problem of limited connectivity, open your network properties (go to Network Connections>Right click Local Area Connection>click Properties>then choos Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) then double click it) something would pop out and check to make sure that the “Obtain IP Address Automatically” and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically is selected, if not then select it and then click apply…

    then your LAN Connection should try to reconnect, and you should by now be able to have a full 100mbps connection and not the limited connectivity.

    Hope that helps
