CDR King – Encore Wireless Router Review

Its been 2 months since I have purchased and used the Encore Wireless Router G (ENHWI-G2) from CDR – King. So far so good, no hints of impending problem at all. Sometimes the router is on round the clock, and it still works at its peak, no drop connections and whatnot.
In my opinion the range of the Encore Wireless Router G‘s signal is around 30 meters here at my place using its bundled 2dBi dipole antenna along with wall and room interferences.
I personally think that this router can still increase its capabilities if I would opt to replace its antenna with a longer one, also available on cdr – king or by using the Windsurfer Wifi – Booster.
As for me, I really got a bang for the buck by getting this wireless router from cdr – king. I got this Wireless G router for a whopping 1,380.00 PHP. Cheapest so far compared to other branded wireless routers such as D-Link and Linksys to name a few.
The only thing that can differentiate this router against the top brands is when it comes to quality. I am yet to find out if the quality of this router can be at par with the top networking hardware brands out there.
But for my opinion, I think this Encore Wireless Router G (ENHWI-G2) could go against the top brands since Encore itself is focused on networking products.
Please bear in mind that Encore is just being resold by CDR – King and is not manufactured by CDR – King itself. Matter of fact, CDR – King has its own version of Wireless Routers at a much cheaper prices ranging from 600.00 – 800.00 PHP
My verdict for this product – Bang for the Buck

can anyone here help me with my problem regarding on installing the router please… when i try to connect my laptop it connects local only.please help…. i do appreciate someone who could help me properly install the router tnx in advance
December 15th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Yup, this router is made for you to connect your laptop to your local network, but if you need an internet connection then you would need to connect your internet connection to the WAN port of this router…
Was that your problem? If you were expecting to be connected to the net with just the router then that is impossible..
If not then can you be more specific on what problems you are experiencing on this router?
Maybe I can help

I bought the router for me to use my laptop’s wireless capability and i knew for a fact that the router must be connected to the net. I dont know what the problem is. FYI I installed the hardware to our pc,of course by doing that it should be connected to an internet. I followed what i’ve read in the manual and i just dont know if its correct or maybe i missed something.

you have the internet connection right? Instead of directing your internet connection to your pc, plug it in the WAN Port of the router (the one nearest the antenna, assuming that you are using the encore wireless G single antenna) then from your pc lan port use another lan cable to connect it to your encore wireless router LAN 1 Port.
Your router should have 2 cables already connected to it, one to the internet, one to the pc.
then just set it up by typing 192.168.1.1 (that is the default of encore as far as I know) then just follow the instructions accompanied by the router…
By the way, what internet connection are you using??
Does this solve your problem??
Hope this helps

im using globe broadband with 1 mbps, can’t answer you right now cause im already using the internet directly on my laptop, the pc is inside my brother’s room. so what i usually do i removed the net connection from the pc to transfer it on my laptop and that really sucks. i did used 2 cables when i installed the hardware earlier
December 16th, 2008 at 1:18 am
Oh ok, Just try it when you have time.
Reminder though that once you have set everything up, you still need to run the configuration of the router by typing 192.168.1.1 on your internet browser.
There is some installation wizard that you need to run in order to use the router correctly.
The default username and password for the encore wireless router is admin (username) admin (password)
once your in the router’s config, you would need to run the setup wizard. Don’t worry though since it is very userfriendly.
If you ran into any problems then just ask away, I might be able to help.

Hi! i would just like to ask for some assistance on how to connect my Globe ADSL2+Modem Annex A to a Wireless router. I actually purchased an Encore Super G Wireless Router and tried connecting with Globes modem/router but unfortunately, i wasn’t able to connect to the internet. But when i tried removing my connection from globe’s modem/router to the wireless router i purchased and connected directly the modem/router to my pc, I have internet connection. I guess my problem now is basically how to connect my wireless router to globe’s modem/router and correct settings to use in my wireless router. i tried entering globe’s gateway but i just couldn’t enter globe’s configuration due to they changed the default username and password. I tried using admin for username and admin or 1234 as the password but it still didn’t work and just says bad username/password. I tried asking for configuration to the tech support and i asked what encapsulation globe is using so i can set up my wan connection in my wireless router and confirmed that my account is a PPoE. Actually i tried using the automatic DHCP and tried using PPoE as well using the username and password that globe gave me when i had my first connection with them but again it still didn’t have connection to the internet. I actually do not have problems regarding my connection to my wireless router coz i actually can connect to it, but my main and only problem is the connection to the internet. Here are the devices that i currently have:
From globe:
Turbolink AR860C1-A (SPHAIRON) ADSL2+MODEM ANNEX A
My Wireless router:
Wireless SuperG Router ENHWI-SG (ENCORE)
I’ve tried searching answers on the net and reading many manuals including my wireless router manual but i just did not have any luck on how to connect to the internet using my wireless router. All i want is for me to be able to use my laptop with wireless connection to the internet.I hope you can help me on this. I would very much appreciate your kind assistance. Thanks in advance
December 26th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
Hi chris!
isnt it that the modem globe gave you is already a 2-in-1 modem and router?? If that is then maybe the encore router is having incompatibility with your globe modem, but I still have doubts.
You said you just connected the globe modem to the encore router and did not have any connections, my question is, have you tried configuring your encore router first?
Lahat ng router before mo magamit, dapat i-configure mo muna, then saka mo lang ikakabit yung globe modem mo to the encore router para maging maaus yung connection mo.
tska yung sa configuration mo ng globe modem mo, its your right to know kung anu yung username and password nun, magreklamo ka sa globe kung di nila maibigay sau yung username password nun.
So aun nga try mo muna i configure yung encore mo, isaksak mo siya directly sa computer mo without the globe modem pag icoconfigure mo siya. Im not sure kung anung ip ang gamit ng encore na nabili mo kasi bago yan, consult mo sa manual nya kung anung address gamit ng encore mo, then after configuring, that is the right time para isaksak mo yung globe modem mo to your encore, no configs needed kung maayos naman ang globe modem mo…
Hope that helps.

hi jamez
thanks for replying. Yes, globe gave me a modem/router. my main purpose why i purchased a wireless router is basically to have a wireless connection using my laptop. actually. iv’e tried all the things you’ve mentioned. also, i think all encore routers have the same IP. before i connect my encore router, i tried configuring it first straight through my laptop. i asked what encapsulation to use in globe and they advised me that i’ll use PPPoE to be able to connect to my router. Also, i’ve tried asking assistance for an on-site visit of their technician but unluckily, they just told me that they only fix connection problem. kaya nga assistance eh. they don’t value their subscribers. . . whatever happened to the word CUSTOMER SERVICE.
In terms of connectivity, i actually don’t have a problem with my router coz i get connected to it right after configuring the said router. thus, locally I can connect with the router. the only problem that i would like to resolve is how to pass or relay the internet connection of globe’s modem router to my encore wireless router. i can actually connect or ping with other devices eg. my desktop computer when i connect it on the 4 lan ports available in encore router.
I would just like to ask if we have the same modem/router or is your globe broadband device a plain modem and does not have a 2 connection? Coz what i currently have is a RJ-45 and usb cable with modem.
Also, i tried changing the IP of my encore router to 192.168.1.2 coz i thought that there will be a conflict with the two router’s gateway but i guess it still didn’t resolve my problem. I’ve tried almost all the possible ways but i guess i have run out of ways. hehehe
With regards to the username and password of globe’s modem/router, i tried resetting it coz i thought it might reset as well the password but still, the password set by globe remained. I’ve tried also asking tech support in 173 but again they just told me that only globe can modify said router. Well i guess it’s with this modem where they control your bandwith that’s why they won’t give it’s username and password.
And, I’ve emailed innove to ask for assistance but still no reply from them. After i finish my contract with them, i might transfer to sun or smart due to their useless customer service and technical support. Not only that i asked for helped through email but also i’ve tried going directly to globelines and again same feedback from them “Nothing”.
Im hoping that you can help me work this out coz i really would like to make use of my wireless router. Actually, i even tried using the router that is manufactured by cd-r king that has a label “compatible with globe broadband, pldt dsl, digitel, etc.” but didn’t work for my modem as well and i have it replaced with my encore wireless router.
I cannot as well return it because it basically is not broken/damage. I wish i got the contact number of the technician who installed our internet connection. Hope you can assist me with this my friend.
Thanks.

Hi chris!
One quick question though, you said Globe modem/router, hindi pa ba wireless router yung modem ng globe? kasi based from my experience, connecting a router to another router wont do you good, hindi papasok yung internet connection sa second router, dun lang sa first router pumapasok yung internet connection.
hindi siya katulad ng isang extension ng electric socket na kahit dugtungan mo ng dugtungan ng ibang extension may kuryente pa din…
December 27th, 2008 at 1:43 am
hi jamez
modem+router of my globe broadband connection is basically wired 1mbps. kasi, yung wireless connection ng globe is up to 512kbps only. actually, hindi sya router. it’s basically is just a modem with 2 connections (1ethernet and usb type). so it means, you can share your connection wiredly into two different mediums. but it’s not totally considered a router.
kasi dba, i believe even your encore g wireless router doesn’t have an rj-11 slot? so basically, the communication is not from router to router but modem to router or the like.
One question though, what encapsulation did u use when u configured your encore wireless router? is it dhcp or PPPoE? what modem are using as well? is it the same as mine? did globe gave you a username and password when u first applied an internet connection with globe?
sana before new year i can use na may wireless super g router.
December 27th, 2008 at 2:08 am
Chris,
Oh so modem lang talaga pala yung sau, kasi meron binibigay yung globe na wired din na 2 in 1 na sya, no need for any wireless router anymore, akala ko yun ung nakuha mo…
Anyway, nope walang rj11 yung router ko na encore only the modem from globe ang may slot for rj11.
My router is set to dhcp, plus the modem I have is the wireless modem of globe, yung 512kbps, pero in my case ang nakukuha ko na speed ng internet is around 1.8mbps highest so far and around 1.2 mbps lowest, maganda kasi location ko eh hehe… anyway, wala nang username and password yung modem ko, pero may APN Config na nakaset, hindi ko na sya ginagalaw kasi wala naman problem ang pag access ko sa wireless modem ko.
Chris I think you may need to rely this problem sa ibang wired users. I-consult mo yung same problem sa pinoydsl forums, member din ako dun, alam ko may nabasa na ako na case mo na ganito din eh, hirap din ikabit sa router.
…yan yung link, member din ako nyan so I know marami makakatulong sau.. Pasenxa na chris kasi hindi ko masyado gamay yung settings ng wired modem.. hope that helps
December 28th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Hello Jamez!
Cenxa, ngyon lng ako ulit nakapagonline. hehehe. thanks for making time assisting me. Someday, magagamit ko rin yung router ko. Gus2 ko nga sana yung wireless ang isubscribe ko before kaso nung chineck namin sa globelines ang area namin, d kami kasama. Wala pa kasi masyado connection dito sa carmona. sabi nga ng globe, buti may wired na. im one of the first users of globelines here actually. hehehe. I strongly believe na hindi sira ang encore wireless router na binili ko. i have trust on encore products naman eh. Kung ok nga lng, i could bring my superG wireless rouiter ko sa inyo so i could test it. hehehe. pero i’ll check the forum that u just mentioned. thanks for the advice.
Thanks again.

you need to configure it first before connecting it so that you would be able to use the modem along with the wireless router

HI there!
I have wireless broadband with 512 kbps, specifically having ZTE MF600 modem, I am planning to buy a router for we bought a laptop. my mom wants to use it in her room; any advice what to buy as a router? or do routers actually be compatible with this kind of modem (ZTE MF600), for globe?
thank you so much
January 12th, 2009 at 12:53 pm
Hi Aaron,
Regarding your question, yup you can virtually use any wireless router for your WiFi needs.
Just make sure that it is a Wireless Broadband Router and not an AP (access Point)
Actually I am using this router that I bought on CDR King, and from what I can say I am well completely satisfied with it!
January 13th, 2009 at 7:00 am
what’s the best way i can do with it? ang pagrereset ba ang best remedy?
please help me.. naloloka na talaga ko sa router ko.
thanks in advance.
January 13th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
Hi Kitzmejia!
Hehe, don’t worry madali lang ang remedy jan.
The first step na dapat mo gawin is tanggalin mo yung prolink modem mo sa encore router, so that means na ang nakaconnect lang is yung pc mo sa router.
Then access your router again by typing 192.168.1.1, this time hindi na lalabas yung PROLINK config since hindi na siya connected sa Encore router mo. So that means you are back into the Encore router settings.
Next step is run the SETUP WIZARD again hanggang sa umabot ka sa step 3 (LAN INTERFACE SETUP). Pagdating mo sa step 3 meron dun 2 windows (IP ADDRESS and SUBNET MASK)
Dun sa IP ADDRESS assuming wala ka pinalitan and was able to login with the 192.168.1.1, ang dapat nakalagay jan ngayun in 192.168.1.1.
Ang trick ngaun jan is PALITAN MO UNG IP ADDRESS VALUE jan. Anything between 192.168.2.1 – 192.168.255.1. Yup yung second to the last value ng IP address mo ang dapat mo palitan para hindi sya maging ka value ng prolink modem mo.
After nun, proceed hanggang sa last step, and then before mo i-click yung finish, i-connect mo na yung PROLINK MODEM mo and wait for it to reset.
To reset means lalabas ulit ung login window at mawawala ulit yung connection mo. Wait for a minute or two hanggang sa makapag commence yung router mo ulit.
Assuming na pinalitan mo yung IP address mo, hindi ka na makakapag login ulit sa router. But that is a good sign since we are now sure that tama ang process na ginagawa mo. HINDI KA NA MAKAKAPAG LOGIN ULIT SA ROUTER UNLESS ITTYPE MO YUNG TAMANG IP ADDRESS SA WEB BROWSER MO.
When we say “tama” means ittype mo sa web browser mo yung IP Address na ipinalit mo dun sa STEP NUMBER 3.
after all of that try browsing ulit, and then try accessing yung router mo, if walang problem.. Congratulations! hehehe
Hope that helps!
Balik ka ulit!

Jamez,
Ohhh that’s very good news. I will be looking for that router.
Thanks.

[...] You have got an instant wireless signal booster, it works on your ZTE MF600 and/or your router. [...]

if you have questions regarding the router, like myself, i call the cdr-king wireless assistance people. they know what to do, and they are luckily patient enough to put up with my ignorance..
February 4th, 2009 at 1:29 am
hi. i bought an ENHWI-G2 encore wireless router from cd-r king last november 2008. and badly, up to this moment, not a single successful attempt of accessing the internet via the wireless router. yes, the router’s been with me for 3 months already and still haven’t used it. sigh. i’ve read the above discussions and i think my case was somewhat similar with chris. i also have a 1mbps wired globelines connection, have installed the router to my laptop, and just the same, could only connect locally. i am really having a hard time for months now. i tried seeking cd-r king’s help and went to one of their stores last year but still the problem has not been resolved. i haven’t tried contacting globelines though.
hope you guys could help. thanks.

Good DAY,
I already bought a router. It’s linksys Wireless G Broadband Router model WRT54G2. I have a ZTEmodem MF600.. Do you know how to set up the router for this modem? I am using globe wireless broadband like what u have.
Thanks Much
February 15th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
@Aaron
Well there is a workaround for the Linksys Broadband router, meron yan setup wizard which you can follow, I just don’t know the IP address that the Linksys router uses, pero as far as I know mas madali pa nga isetup yan…
Check mo na lang sa instructions, kasi hindi ko alam ang settings nyan Linksys eh.
February 15th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
James,
I finished installing the router. It works well in my PSP but in my laptop it can’t connect. Whenever I connect to my laptop it says ‘WIndows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network”… I was happy i got it worked in my PSP, but sad not to let it run in my laptop. Any advice? Much Appreciated.
February 15th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
@Aaron,
What’s your security for your router? is it WPA-PSK?
try using WPA-TKIP, then update us on what happens if you change it to WPA-TKIP
February 15th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
its WPA-TKIP… same message still appears
February 15th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
@Aaron
Try this, open your network connections and then right click on your wireless connection and click properties and then you would have 3 Tabs there.. click the Wireless Network Tab and then put a check on Use windows to configure my wireless network settings…
and then Click the ADD on the preferred networks and then enter the SSID of your router and then put a check mark on the “Connect even if this network is not broadcasting”
And then on the Network Authentication choose WPA-PSK
on Data Encryption choose TKIP
and then input your network key AKA Wifi Password.
then update us if that works…
February 16th, 2009 at 9:57 am
HELLO THERE JAMES!!
Finally, I got my WIFI work now.. Instead of placing security. I just disabled it in the linksys router. My laptop is kinda weird. But, in my psp, It worked well with the security WAP key. Now, I got a wifi connection..
Thank you so much for the help! YAHOO!!!
thanks

Hi. Is it possible for me to change my router/wifi name and set up a password so that my neighbors won’t be able to access my connection? Coz I believe some of my files will also be available to them.
March 17th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Yup its very possible, all you have to do is follow the instructions on your encore wireless router, there are instructions located inside the box if there arent any then you can also consult either encore’s website or cdr kings website
March 18th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
Hi! I’m having a little problem with the encore router. I was already able to establish the connection between my desktop and my dell laptop and the internet was working fine. The problem is I couldn’t establish a connection between my desktop and my toshiba laptop. The toshiba laptop could detect the wirless network connection however, when I try to connect, there’s a message saying ‘windows could not connect 802112G.’ What do you think is the problem? How can I resolve it?
Hoping for your response. Thanks!
March 21st, 2009 at 9:20 pm

March 21st, 2009 at 9:31 pm
well as far you are asking for my opinion, based from my experience, yup it is worth it, i consider is bang for the buck.
cdr king also has various antennas available for it for various ranges

hi i jst wnt to ask if ever you happens to know how to configure two desktop on encore wireless router and using onli one internet connection at d same time..btw am using smart bro,,,do you think its possible,?or should i used switch hub to separate d int connection???if so,,,,pls give me a step by step process,,,,a million tnx….i would greatly appreciate it,,,,,
April 6th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
Of course it is very possible, you wont need switch hub, the encore wireless router can function as a switch hub just by placing the internet connection on the LAN port rather on the WAN port.
The same process can be followed just by following these steps > http://tinyurl.com/dzqdvc for new smart bro users
or this one for old smart bro users
http://tinyurl.com/cdl6m7
hope those instructions help you

Hello, can anyone help me on my router? I have this Encore ENHWI-G2 wireless, and it was working fine. Modem was connected to the WAN port, and 2 desktops connected to 1 LAN slot each. I had to change the hard drive of one of the desktops and ever since, it cannot access the internet. However, both desktops can access the internet when directly connected to the modem. I tried restarting, resetting, and changing LAN slots, but it wouldn’t work. Also, i cannot access my router interface anymore. The “network timeout” notice appears on the browser when i try to access the router. Can anyone help me?
April 21st, 2009 at 9:31 pm
@vyrille
Im a bit confused, when you say you cannot access the router interface, are you then referring to both pc’s or only to the pc which had its hd changed?
Also does the pc with a new hd has its settings same like it was before its hd was changed?
Obviously, as far as I can tell from your situation is that some settings might have been messed up when you changed your hd.
just to be sure go to network connections, then right click Local Area connection and then click properties then select Internet protocol TCP/IP and then click properties….
make sure that you have the settings on it set to obtain dns and ip automatically.

no puns intended … but i’d rather get a second hand well-branded router instead. like now sa tipidpc somebody is selling his netgear rangemax N model 2000(i forgot the whole model number but it ends in 2000) for php 2K …. added premium to pay for peace of mind
peace

anyone or somebody pls. help…. i lost my installer so for short, i need my that installer for password purposes..just got my laptop formatted
May 9th, 2010 at 7:49 am
to all who cannot connect – its better to go to a cd r king branch store anywhere and ask for the tech support to set up your wireless router.
and to the staff or sales rep of encore or any wireless router in Cd R King – kindly ask the customer for an option to personally configure the wireless router in the store.well maybe some of the buyers didnt know much about configuring/installing the device.
just my 2 cents. good day and have a wireless surfing fun!

how i can put a password in my router?
June 6th, 2010 at 9:51 pm
@ James Diaz or anybody out there who could help me, I experienced this even in my wired router. Now, I’m using a cdr king wireless router and everything seems ok, except that whenever I switched off my pc and then switched on again it will say “Limited or no connectivity”, it’s my desktop pc, and is wired to the wireless router. As for the other laptops in the house the wi-fi capability of the router is working perfectly. So, what could be the problem? I have ran the Installation Wizard already but haven’t changed anything. Is there something I should re-configure? By the way, I could still connect to the internet, only after plugging the ethernet cable from the router when the pc is already stable after switching it on. Thanks!
June 6th, 2010 at 10:30 pm
@Vhindoy,
what OS are you using? have you already tinkered with the settings of the lan connectivity of your desktop?
June 7th, 2010 at 1:25 am
m using linksys WRT54G router with my pldt dsl and i didnt encouter any problem, but when i tried to connect the router with globe wimax modem i got no internet connection. but when u disconnect it to the router the internet connection is back. i tried to reinstall the router to the computer but when its configuring the computer and the router, there is a message that said something like, ‘ there is a problem between ur modem and the router. is this an incompatibility issue or i just need to change some settings? i understand globe is offering its own wifi router. help me please.

@James, good day to you, and thanks for the reply, I’m on XP SP3, and regarding to LAN setting in the net option, I’m already in “Auto Detect Settings”. So, do you think I have to use the proxy setting of the router? Thanks again!

cdrking ng pla binili kung wireless router..
June 7th, 2010 at 11:37 pm
nope no need to configure on your router… I have a hunch that the problem lies on the desktop, I have a similar problem to what you have, but sadly it was my ethernet port connection that did have a problem, so what I did was to buy a wireless USB from cdrking so that I could ditch in the LAN Cable since its already giving me some problems on the desktop that I have…
But Im not suggesting that you also do the same, but try these if it would work out.. and I hope it does.
Go to Start>Run> and then type CMD and then from the command prompt type in IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS then press enter and then type in NETSH INT IP RESET C:\RESETLOG.TXT then press enter again and then NETSH WINSOCK RESET then press enter, and then try restarting your desktop. then tell me the results… by the way, just keep the lan cable plugged to your desktop and is connected to your router….
if after restarting you still experience the problem of limited connectivity, open your network properties (go to Network Connections>Right click Local Area Connection>click Properties>then choos Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) then double click it) something would pop out and check to make sure that the “Obtain IP Address Automatically” and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically is selected, if not then select it and then click apply…
then your LAN Connection should try to reconnect, and you should by now be able to have a full 100mbps connection and not the limited connectivity.
Hope that helps

Thank so much James, you’re really of great help, because of your suggestion below, I found something;

The IP and DNS, are already ok, but I found this, my internet protocol is Ver 6, and it says I have no driver of it, so I guess that’s the problem, just going to search the web for it. Thanks so much again and God bless…………………

sir wala pa rin po,,kahit anong adress na nilalagay ko sa address bar…ito yung lumalabas na adress…http://api.mybrowserbar.com/cgi/errors.cgi?q=http%3A%2F%2Fph.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%3Fp%3Dgoogle%26fr%3Dgreentree_ff1%26ei%3Dutf-8%26type%3D937811&type=dns&ISN=EC70A30797E64219AEDB2ACBCEEAF7B7&ccv=130&cnid=937811&cco=US&ct=12….yung wireless route that i have cdrking 802.11g kailangan bang iinstall yun kc, sa cd na kasama ng wrouter meron doon nakalagy na manual, then quick manual..then APR-B1A4-V1.1.09EN.trx na file d ko alam kung instleer yan o ano pero d ko sya maopen…
June 8th, 2010 at 1:36 pm
@john,
nung kinonfigure nyo yung router nyo, naaalala nyo pa po ba yung address na nilagay nyo? (e.g. 192.168.x.x)? and when accessing your router, may nakakabit po ba na modem? and if meron po, there are chances na pareho ang address ng router and modem nyo which is why hindi nyo maaccess yung address na 192, 168.1.1…
what to do is to remove the modem from the router (if there are any) and then try to re access the 192.168.1.1 sa browser…
if wala naman nakakabit and you still cannot access the 192.168.1.1 then you’d need to do some hard reset on your router… Get a Pin (a literal pin) or a toothpick, and then poke through the reset button on the back of your router for around 10 seconds or until the router restarts itself… ( do this while the router is on ), and then try reaccessing the router again from its default 192.168.1.1
then if successful, try running the wizard config, and make sure that you take note of the 192.168.1.1 sa router po.. if possible change it to something more memorable, all you need to change is the second to the last value.. (192.168.x.1) to anything from 2 to 255, so it would look something like 192.168.79.1 or 192.168.109.1 or something like that… then whatever router ip address you put in the wizard config would be the configuration that you would need to type in para makapasok sa console ng router mo po….
and then that would be the time na ikokonect nyo na po yung modem nyo….
May I know kung anong ISP na gamit nyo po?? if its a globe wireless router, like the one Im using, kelangan pa po iconfigure yun to work properly, if its the globe wireless that uses the ZTE MF600 modem, no need for configuration, kung PLDT MYDSL naman po, no need for modem configuration din po, plug in na lang sa wan port ng router from modem and you’re good to go… Yun lang po ang alam ko na configuration since those were the ISP’s that I have personally fixed already.
Hope that helps
June 8th, 2010 at 1:40 pm
@Vhindoy,
Good that you have found out about that problem, most often than not, yung drivers po nyan eh kasama na sa desktop nung binili nyo po… for sure may mga drivers na pinatago po sa inyo nung binili po desktop nyo, and most often than not andun na po yung drivers na kelangan nyo, hindi lang siguro na install ng maayos (either because of a reformat or something else) just look for it and try to reinstall the drivers from cd para di na kayo mahirapan maghanap, if di nyo na po maalala kung san po ninyo nailagay then the best thing is to search for it in the internet.
Hope that you can fix the problem already have a nice day!
June 22nd, 2010 at 12:21 am
Sir james.. i see that you are an expert in these stuffs.. could ask for some help?? bumili rin kc ako ng cdr king wireless router.. bkt hndi sya mkaconnect sa ACER n laptop? sa ibang laptop nman ay nkakaconnect sya… i would really appreciate a reply.. thanks..
June 22nd, 2010 at 12:32 am
So natry nyo na po pala with other laptops, hmm, what do you mean, wirelessly or thru the lan port?…. But from what you said, I can tell na pwedeng its not on the router but on your Acer Laptop… since sabi nyo po na nakakaconnect naman po yung ibang laptop without any problems…
Best if you can post here what you have already done to your Acer Laptop like if you already have tweaked its Wireless Connection Settings… If not then you can try this one…
try to tweak and fix the settings of your network connections… depending your OS, you can try to tweak it by right clicking the wireless connection of your Acer laptop and then going into properties… Then try double clicking the TCP/IPV 4 and make sure na yung mag pop out na window says na automatic yung IP Address and DNS Address na makukuha nyo po….

Hi fellows… pahiram naman ng talent nyo… Ang gamit kong wireless router Cdr-King Lp-8186. Ang wireless Broadband ko Wi-tribe 4G. Ang computer ko Hp Laptop with Vista. Connected na yung computer to router excellent daw. Ang problema di ako makapasok sa online. Sa repair and Diagnostic, ang sabi “you are connected to the Internet but your router do not support the tools you are using”. Na check kona ang IP add na acquire na daw nya automatically. Tried kona din i-off ang firewall ganon pa din. Ang sabi sa tree icon, “local connection only”. Tried kona din i-public. ganon pa din… Thanks po mga kabayan.

i’ve been using the same router (ENCORE ENHWI-G2) for 3 years already, my pc is connected via LAN port. Recently when i was surfing the net, biglang kumulog at kumidlat ng malakas. then my my connection suddenly got “unplugged” kahit na di ko naman inunplugged. since then hindi ko na magamit yong LAN port. laging “cable is unplugged”. whenever icoconect ko directly sa pc ko yong internet cable, nakakaconnect naman ako. yon nga lang hindi sya kasing bilis at stable ng connected thru LAN port. what do you think is wrong with my router? please help..
