The Philippine Board Exam Result has just came out a day ago, and there are at least 39,455 new Filipino Registered Nurses here in the country, but the question is, are there Jobs available for Filipino Nurses? Yeah we know that Nursing is not that affected by the world financial crisis, but the thing is there is an oversupply of Nurses here in Philippines, 39,455 new Nurses and a hundred thousand more beyond that who are either underemployed and worst unemployed. The Philippine Government have had the NARS Program, but it is not enough to support the new Nurses here in our country. The NARS program is limited to only 10000 Nursing Jobs which is not merely enough to support the new nurses that had recently passed the Nursing Board Examination. With the current situation of the whole world, even nurses who wanted to travel to other countries such as USA have been somehow limited since the guarantee for a stable job abroad has been diminished. Travel Nursing Jobs had been in boom since around 3-4 years ago, but the Global Financial Crisis had affected every countries so much that the dream of a Nurse traveling abroad back around 3-4 years before was somehow ...

In a few weeks time, the Nursing Board Exam Results for November 2008 takers would be Released, and soon the number of unemployed nurses would bloat yet again. Most would be unemployed and some would swallow their pride and take jobs that are way off their profession, much like getting underemployed. The Philippine Government thought of temporarily patching this up by launching the NARS program or what they call the Nurses Assigned to Rural Areas, hmmm the "S" does not seem to hit the right spot though. This is somewhat similar to the Doctor to the Barrios Program by DOH. But would it really help the Unemployed Filipino Nurses here in the country? Well not everyone would benefit from it since first, the needed nurses are very limited. Out of the tens of thousands of Pinoy nurses currently unemployed, then adding the new nurses that would pass the November 2008 Nursing Licensure Exam, the only required number of Nurses for the NARS program are more or less around 5000 to 6000 nurses. They were asked, "What makes for an admirable job, which professions they trust or do not, who is overpaid, and which profession they would prefer to marry." 16% nominated Doctors, Nurses and other Healthcare Professionals as the preferred marriage partners. Considered the highest on all the professionals. Whoa! Now I'm just proud being a Health Professional. Woohoo! Plus the fact that they were considered as the most trusted, among the most admired and includes the most eligible marriage partners. The next in line for the preferred partners are the Educators at 14% 1% chose the retail-professionals, and those in media and marketing as well as entertainers at 2-3% as partner material. So that leaves the Lawyers and Corporate Executives as the most overpaid and the Educators were voted off as the most underpaid. Well, statistics just show it, and I'm not saying that you should go and get a health professional and marry them or make them as your boyfriend / girlfriend. It would still depend on you. It was the exact date last year (December 2, 2007) when I was stunned with a question regarding this. I was taking the Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam back then, I can still remember this somewhere around item number 60 to 70. The question could have been more easier if they have had left the obvious answer, but since I was gunning for my Nursing license then the questions on the exam should be tough. After reading the question, I did not care to look for the answer since I knew that it was an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but what the heck, when I tried to look at what letter it was located I was stunned. Using the process of elimination I was left with two choices, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD). I am under time pressure then but with this two choices left, I wasted 5 minutes thinking if it was a trick question or a typographical error or whatnot. In the end I chose obsessive compulsive personality disorder. So did I get it right? When I got back home, I checked my Psychology book and was happy with the choice I made 2 months after, I am an official R.N. Good Luck ...
