Are Bloggers Affected By World Financial Crisis?

It’s not unnoticeable anymore, the crisis is really starting to hit the country, OFW‘s getting slacked off their jobs, without anything left but to go home to Philippines.
What’s worst is that its harder to get a job here in our country, and if you would land on a job, you would be lucky to have a decent amount of income.
I consider Christmas as the Silence before the storm. Soon in the long run, the situation will become worse, there would be more and more jobless Filipinos in the country and other people who have jobs have a chance to get slacked off.
Some businesses would be forced to shut down and whatnot.
In the coming months and years, it would be a survival of the fittest.

This question plays into my mind, are bloggers affected with this global financial crisis, particularly those bloggers that are making money online through their blogs?
From my point of view, it depends. I don’t even know if even advertisements being served by google adsense and other advertisement providers would be reduced.
I was having some few small talks from time to time with Jedi Dancel of Tsikot.com and somehow he mentioned that traditional advertisers are now biting on the trend and joining the bandwagon of online advertising, and he also mentioned that 2009 would be a boom for online advertising here in the Philippines.
True enough, noticed that the new ad networking company Nuffnang Philippines is already positioning itself on online advertising here in our country, and as of the present time, there aren’t any competitors yet which means Nuffnang Philippines would be having a fair to good share for advertisers.

To cut that story short, more advertisers = more ads for web publishers. More ads for web publishers = more chance of earnings.
So I think bloggers aren’t affected much with this global financial crisis, just like in the food industries, people need food therefore there wont be much of a change in terms of their sales since there is constant demand.
Its just that not everyone can earn money through blogging because it requires a bit of passion, dedication and a drop of perspiration. Your body wouldn’t be used for earning but it’s your brain cells that would get beaten.
Sometimes in blogging, you don’t need to work harder, but you need to work smarter.
This is what I have in mind.
What about you? Do you think bloggers are affected by the world financial crisis?
