A Busy Halloween / Undas Day Business

Well to some Halloween is somewhat a day to go to cemeteries to visit our beloved relatives but for me, it is a busy day ahead. Why? Well it’s because we live near the Chinese Cemetery in Manila.
For the past 22 years that I have been living in Manila and here on earth, I have yet to consider All souls day, or the Undas or the Todos Los Santos or Halloween as a creepy day. Well if not for the scary shows whenever Halloween is near then I wouldn’t feel that Halloween is somewhat supposed to be a day for the souls, lost or not.
Everytime the last week of October comes, our streets would be full of travelling people with vehicles who would want to visit their beloved relatives on cemeteries. Yup, people with vehicles since the last day for vehicles in our area is on the 30th of October every year. After that, no vehicles would be allowed to enter our street except for people who are living here in our street who own a vehicle, and that includes me.
Whenever the last week of October comes near, our street would be flooded with flower vendors, food stalls, hey even Jollibee, Greenwich, Pizza Hut, Chowking stalls and the like would be on our street. It’s a food bazaar out there! Then there would be many cops roaming around getting ready for the Undas or Halloween, of course, you would not miss those media men roaming around our street trying to interview people, vendors and even residents here. Who knows, maybe you might see me on tv being interviewed.
Sometimes, when it hits me, I also do take advantage of the Halloween season, we here at home sometimes become business men and women, selling foods and drinks, offering our space for parking, specially for those who have brought motor cycles who needs to park their motorcycles outside the cemetery compound, and offering a bathroom for a price of course for those people who need to answer the call of nature. Now that is money! Right on the spot.
I like to take advantage of the parking business, since I can charge them around P250 as the minimum for an hour if I like to for a single motorcycle, and one good thing about that is not only one individual tries to bring their motorcycles here, there are many of them, so P250 x the number of hours x the number of motorcycles = Big Money! Wow Entrepreneur! But its assured that those motorcycles wont be harmed by anyone. So the price is just fair enough.
Now that is the reason why Halloween is busy here. Hey if anyone out there who would be visiting Chinese Cemetery this Halloween and needs something then why not drop by and ask for my assistance. Specially for those who would need a parking space, Sagot ko iyan! Hehe. Malaki ang lot dito samin hehe. But seriously why not drop by to say hi. See the pic up there? Well the exact spot where the person who took that picture is right on our spot. On the left side when facing the cemetery.
Well so much for this now, Happy Halloween!
